can anyone explain to me like i am a 3 year old, how the download can work the way they work?
it says to right click on the image and to save as on your hard disk, then drag the image into the spore creature creator to install it into the spore creature creator...
how exactly does dragging and dropping a picture into a program install all those information onto it??
exact word from the webpage:
"How do you see one of these Creatures in your Spore Creature Creator? Right Click on the thumbnail image of the creature. Save the image to your desktop. Drag the saved image from your desktop into the Spore Creature Creator. Voila! The Creature is in your game."

Got bored, took me a few minutes. Gonna buy the creature creation tomorrow, the trial isn't that great as far as customization goes.

I just went ahead and bought the program. It only costs $10.00 & shipping USD or $15.94 USD if you d/l it.
But then I have children in my family to entertain with it, so it's more than worth it to me.

I just found a really creepy secret. If you got to the menu after you log in and spin the galaxy really fast, Will Wright's face will pop up.

Will Wright on the Origin of Spore
thought this might be interesting to read, thou i don't think the creature creator is addictive enough, i still want to know what the game is about. and i like his answer to that question:
"Virtual world publishers talk about the benefit of aggregating the all the content their users make. What's your take on that?
Wright: I like the idea. I was trying to figure out how to lower the friction of creation to getting into the game but also how do you make the creation process fun, so you don't have 1 percent of people making stuff for the other 99 percent. Rather, how do you get 99 percent of people making stuff for the 100 percent."

Just pre-ordered my copy of spore yesterday! Yay. Galactic Edition. If GW has taught me anything it's get the CE's when they first come out and you can.

I have to say I'm bitterly disappointed in Spore.
I thought I'd give it a go for a bit of diversity from GW, but the experience has left me appreciating ArenaNet even more. Spore is so basic and incomplete, it seems like that only multiple Sims-like expansions will make it anywhere near a decent game.
GW are still giving me free game updates once a month.
Creature Creation is cute, but the game play has nothing to do with "evolving" - no amount of legs will make you run faster. Plus it's simple Darwinism - kill or be killed; playing a Pacifist stance is not enjoyable.
And that DRM issue! 3 installs, bsh plz, passive aggressive stance. Anet actively work day in day out combating bots, hacks, cheats, and account stealers.
For all the issues people chuck down on the table about GW, you have to admit Anet has a really progressive business model. And for those who are demanding "GW2 nao!", let this Spore debacle be a reminder about what shoving a game out half way good can do.

You know, I echo most of your thoughts here.
I got Spore on a spur midnight Saturday night. Played it to City on one Species and tried another after realizing how to give the some girth...
It just wasnt the "Age of Empires + Sims + Neopets" effect it was supposed to be. I was highly disappointed and backed my reasons to why I never play games by Guildwars.
I'm just really disappointed. Went into it with out any knowledge or ideas, came out of it with the same.

Spore - Everything that is promised and more!
You know! or not, that I couldn't resist temptation. Temptation of a new game, Temptation of a new game that I've enticipated for over a year and a half or more. I gaze upon the sales assistant's monitor screen as I was taking change from him.
SPOILERThere was a space invasion going on and fighter ship shooting lazer gun at its target and ships battle on the water below, all happening on a very beautiful landscape with alien looking trees and alien looking creatures were running here and about. and I had to asked. What are you playing just to make sure its spore. and off course the answer was a yes. and I got myself a copy for it too.SPOILER
Installed the game 2 days later wandering if I can indulge myself in yet another addicting game.
And if you are reading this, I did installed the game. hahahaha because its my version of Spore Reviews.
So I thought its just creating creatures and sharing them online! WRONG!!!!!!!! TING TING TING.
SPORE is very very very good!!!!! If you have been waiting to play it, don't hesitate, buy it, it is everything that is promised and more.
I cannot reveal too much of how the game goes, I don't like to spoil the fun for you.
Now the question remains, how much longer can this game keep my attention or will i be addicted?
LASTLY, this game will be so much more enjoyable if it is a MMORPG. and it should. all the features are gear towards an MMORPG surroundings if I am not mistaken.
WAY TO GO Mr Will Wright! 2 thumbs up.

i r download the pictures and see if i can get it to show up in the game.
they both look very nice, but wanders if they can out survive others mwahahahaha.
just a thought:
i wander if at one stage everyone will be making almost the same kind of creature if they wanted these creatures to be "compatitive in the game" = survival of the fittest.
which will defeat the purpose of the creature creator. sort of that you cannot play with creature you created, for instant if I were to create something without "hands" = important of holding tools, therefore It won't survive. sooooooo ...

It's kinda meh imo. The only thing I really enjoyed was building my own vehicles and the entire battle thingy stage. Space stage is annoying because:
1: It's effing hard to find planets sometimes
2: It's nearly impossible when you have enemies. 3 of my colonies keep being attacked, which causes me to be unable to do anything else but defend them really :/

I only got through a few hours of play without cheats. I just got so frustrated, and now that I've started cheating it's much more enjoyable!!!! You can upgrade everything and do your own thing without having to worry about those annoying money and enemy issues.

Normally I never cheat, especially not the first time I play a game but I actually might do that now....

Agree. Up to Space phase, everything was fine, city, tribal phase and so on. But Space sucks, my enemy was all the time attacking at least 2 colonies, and when he captured one of them because there was only 1 on a planet (and you have ridiculously low funds), I just left the game alone. Dunno if I still have it installed on HD...
